About the project
I wanted to write a different history of the Troubles: one that reflected the experience of living within a conflict and that conveyed the everydayness of it. The focus is sensory history because it is through the senses that we meet with and make meaning of the world around us.
I am collecting fragments – moments and memories – from those who have lived through the Troubles. I am really keen to hear from anyone who would like to add their experiences to the project. I will share some of these stories and memories on this website.
I have been very lucky to get a Leverhulme Research Fellowship and this has allowed to to pursue this project.
